I found the whole process to be a bit off putting. I arrived for the interview on time and we did not begin until half an hour after arriving. I thought that was rude but I still put my best foot forward. I interviewed with multiple people. I was completely turned off by the abrasiveness with the one man I interviewed with. The others were lovely. I sit down and his body language is very standoffish. He does not even face me when he talks. He shakes my hand, it was clear he did not want to be there or for whatever reason he knew I wasn't his pick. As he goes through my resume he abruptly says "can I offer you some advice on your resume?". I was a bit taken aback by that comment. At this point I think to myself "what am I going to say? No?" And he offers his advice and justifies his advice by saying "that's what we do here. we give critical feedback and you know what? Some people don't like that. If you don't, this isn't the place for you." I was very taken aback. I knew full well this was a place that gave feedback and regular employee reviews based off the video I was asked to watch before coming in for the interview. He also pressed me for the year I graduated from college on my resume which I found rude. Why are you asking me for the year I graduated? That's age discrimination. He then followed up with "we like to see on a resume the year you graduated". Which again brings me to my same point. Why do you want to know the year I graduated unless you were looking for a reason to discriminate against my age. I knew after interviewing with him I did not want the position because it would mean having to interact with someone like this.
Aside from him the interview was a bit tough. You're repeatedly asked in different ways the ways you failed or messed up and how you resolved that issue. That was hard for me, simply because (I'm not just saying this) I rarely ever mess up and I wasn't prepared for the repeated questions about the same thing. I was not given an offer in the end and I am completely okay with that. I found it odd whenever I asked the Talent team questions about the office environment they could never give me the answer I was looking for (red flag). I'd ask "can you describe the office environment?" and they responded by describing the fast paced nature of it.... which was not what I meant. Maybe I wasn't clear, I wanted to know from their perspective how they fit into the environment / was the environment positive / etc. That was deflected every time.
