I was called after submitting an online application. The guy I spoke to seemed on the ball and we had a good chat. Said need was immediate so I was surprised when follow up interview was scheduled for 10 days later.
In person interview process was pretty awful. I met with 4 people. The first two never read my resume or Linkedin profile and did not bring resume to meeting. Showed up late. They should have showed up 5 minutes later and at least perused my resume. They seemed nice enough but were totally unprepared on every level as they knew absolutely nothing about me. I have had more interesting conversations with random strangers in a bar. If I was that unprepared I would have been walked to the door quickly. It was very disappointing as I spent several hours preparing including reading the company blog, reviewing their website and reading the Linkedin profiles for each person I was set to interview as well as a few others in case a few of them wanted to pop in for an additional chat.
Then I met with the CEO, who was equally unprepared. In fact he spent most of the 20 minute session playing with his cell phone. I found him totally rude and disrespectful, not to mention completely unprofessional.
The final session was with the guy who did the phone screen, who again seemed on the ball, but not enough to make up for the three prior terrible sessions.
I left thinking this was a third rate firm with terrible leadership and a young, extremely green and unimpressive staff. So much so that I did not have any interest in the firm or the job. Usually I immediately send off thank you notes, but these jokers were not worth the effort.
