From the very beginning of the interview it was quite obvious that this company was going to be different than most others I've ever applied for. Starting with the application, there are a lot of questions that are worth putting time into answering fully. They may seem like small details but I encourage you to take your time and do your best paying attention to detail. If they like your application someone will probably contact you within a short time to start a brief phone interview. If you make it to the next step, you will probably be invited to come in for some testing. Be prepared to take both a very technical exam. STUDY UP ON YOUR GEAR! You will also go through some other tests including typing, communications, and intelligence. The company looks for the best of the best and you should be ready to think! You will probably get a tour and have another few rounds of interviewing after you do well in testing. The campus is absolutely amazing so be prepared to come early and explore before the interview. Depending on where you are coming from it may be a few day process! Take the opportunity to ask lots of questions while you are there. I can tell you that being honest and sincere will help you immensely. Sweetwater has unbelievable standards for who they hire so if you make it through the interview process, you will be joining some of the most talented and passionate people in the music industry. I would encourage you to try hard and stick with it if it takes a while. If you are hired you will become part of an elite group of AMAZING people you will not find anywhere else. Pay attention to the "vibe" while you are on campus because it is very alive and people who work here are extremely dedicated and some of the kindest people you will ever meet.

To start when applying for this job right at the beginning of the application it tells you in bold letters, "Sweetwater is a drug free workplace. All candidates must submit to a test for illegal drugs, INCLUDING MARIJUANA, before any job offer will be extended," and this was a concern for me as I am a medical marijuana patient where I live so I asked about that and the interviewer pretty much gaslit me saying that they don't test for marijuana, and I didn't read it right. My next question was about commission and the interviewer started saying that wasn't the case for the Category Advisor position and asking me what interested me in that position, I told the interviewer that I was confused as I thought I had applied for a Sales Engineer position, to which the interviewer proceeds to say that I did in fact apply for sales. Last major red flag for me was the interviewer seemed to want my undying loyalty to this company. It's a job not an entire lifestyle and many employers are making this mistake. You sign my paycheck that is all, we as humans do not owe any company everything we have. Honestly, I feel like they won't even offer me the position at this point, but I'd most likely turn it down if they did anyways. Something doesn't sit right with me about this company, just kind of screams "we want slaves that will devote their entire life to our company."
