I recently interviewed with Sylvera and unfortunately had the poorest and most unprofessional recruitment experiences I’ve encountered.
After a brief 20‑minute initial interview, I was sent a “3‑hour” take‑home task. The task package included four documents:
a 98‑page report,
a 48‑page report,
a spreadsheet, and
a 2‑page question document.
Simply reading the materials would take three hours, let alone completing the task itself. Despite this, I put in the time, completed the assignment, and returned it the next day.
I was told that if the work was well‑received, I would have a follow‑up call with the team to discuss my submission. Instead, I received no response at all. After chasing for an update, I received a message claiming that after discussions with the team and internal reviews, they had decided not to move forward.
This was factually incorrect. I had no further interviews, no conversations, and no communication with anyone beyond my single point of contact. It is very concerning that a company cannot track individual candidates through their own process and then provides inaccurate feedback as if they had engaged further.
The experience felt extremely disrespectful, disorganised, and frankly unprofessional. It has also left me feeling as though I have completed free work for a company that couldn’t even be bothered to follow up accurately.
Overall, a disappointing and time‑wasting process that does not reflect well on the organisation or its culture.
