Was approached on LinkedIn about a role similar to the one I had. It was a bit of a drive out of the way, but my new house is closer to this job so I was very interested. Up until the interview, the person doing the screening was very professional and courteous.
The day of, I received a different impression. I had an interview at Starbucks with a person who didn't introduce himself or his title, he had dirty jeans on and an unbuttoned polo.
He hadn't taken even a second to look me up so he was reviewing my resume on his phone while in line. It was clear he wasn't interested or really engaged when we sat for coffee. He didn't ask a single question about my qualifications, past, or anything. He just had me talk about myself for a few minutes and then said "ok thanks, we'll set something up for next week".
I received no follow up, no call, no anything. This is management they're hiring for, in a tight-knit industry - treating potential candidates with the respect of at least following up with them goes a long way.
I never heard back from them. The interview was a total bust. I never even spoke about my professional career or why I thought I could help the team. And they came to ME for the interview.
0/10, if the interviewer doesn't have 15 minutes to review an applicant before an interview, they sure won't have 15 minutes for you when you work there.
