I applied online to the position in November, strangely enough, I received an automatic response a few days later that I had not been selected to move forward. However, a few weeks later, I received an email from the recruiter to set up the initial phone screening. It was a very basic behavioral screening with some clarifications on my experience, skills, and graduation date.
A few days later, one of my managers reached out to me to set up a 30 minute phone call about the position. It was very relaxed and conversational, with some behavioral questions and some position specific skill/knowledge questions.
A few days after this, I was contacted to set up an onsite interview at the HQ in Minneapolis. I was requested to complete a project (with prompt) to present to the team. I was also sent information by HR about how target utilizes the STAR interviewing technique.
I was flown out the day before and flew out after my afternoon interview. I was onsite for about 4 hours, where I received a tour from a member of the recruiting team, interviewed with my two managers, VP, and was led out by the executive assistant. All of my responses to the behavioral questions were written down and submitted in a system, but it was still fairly casual.
Overall, the process was extremely smooth, quick (once things were rolling), and very friendly! Everyone I interacted with from HR to scheduling to my actual team were nothing but accommodating and responsive!
