Tell me a little bit about yourself.

"I've been doing engineering for 18 years. I started as a drafter in the automotive industry in 1994 and worked my way up to a lead designer at the same company seven years later. The company fell on hard times, and I found myself hunting for more stable employement. It was then that I secured a position in engineering here at Whirlpool. I can honestly say that the six years I spent here from 2001 to 2007 were some of the best years of my career. I grew as an individual and was exposed to a plethora of new skills and techniques that I never learned in school. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute that spent here at the technology centers in St. Joe. Then an interesting turn of events led me to where I am now. In 2007 my Father presented me with an opportunity to run a chain of automotive service centers that were part of the largest franchise in the nation. The potential rewards were significant and I decided to take a chance. I spent 3 and a half years as operations manager, and this was an unparalleled experience for me. I learned an incredible amount about leadership and how to bring a team together toward a common goal. Unfortunately, the struggling economy took its toll on the business at it closed its doors shortly after I left in September of 2007. I have since re-entered the engineering field. My first choice was Whirlpool, but there were no opportunities available at the time. I currently work a the lead product development engineer at my company and I have a great relationship with them. They will no doubt work hard to keep me, but Whirlpool remains my top choice for employment which is why I'm here today."
