Tell me about your experience with Portuguese?
Sigiloso
A requirement, as posted, for this position was to speak either Portuguese or French. I am fluent in Portuguese so it came as no surprise that this was a question, what was unexpected is that there was nothing done to verify or test my language abilities. My other offer also required Portuguese and they at least verified a minimum proficiency. I would have happily demonstrated my skill level in this but Twitter did nothing. I offered to read through a legal policy case in Portuguese and discuss it with them, I offered to have a conversation or take a test. Nothing. Had I been turned away after the first interview, this wouldn't seem strange but with over a month of interviewing and so many interviews, you would think that this would have been worth exploring. With a policy like that, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with hires that overstate their abilities.
