Had a screening call with the owner and was asked to complete a project prior to an in-person interview. Spent time/money on the project/presentation, had the interview - the team was really friendly and all went fine. Sent a follow-up email after and never heard back. It’s tough to do spec work for a company just for an interview and have the company not even respond with a rejection, totally ghosted. I guess it’s a disappointing norm in the industry, just thought they seemed more considerate than that.
