I called the manager of the Infosec group (the old manager) and spoke with her about the position. We then met and discussed the requirements. I also met with another architect and discussed the position. After submitting a drug test and about a two week wait, I was brought on as a contract to hire. After two months, I was offered the full time position. I accepted the position. Due to the laborious hiring process, it was almost six months before I was actually an employee. This was due to a background check service that was unreasonably slow and a largely destaffed HR department (using temp contractors). The old manager was a wonderful ethical woman that made working at TCH a better experience.
