The initial phone conversation was nice, courteous and very attentive. Recruiter was kind and diligent in answering questions on the phone and in emails. Recruiter followed-up as promised within the time frame initially indicated. However, the in-person interview with hiring manager was extremely unprofessional and demeaning. It was pulling teeth to get any questions from the manager, had to ask for clarification over and over to get an idea of what they were looking for - I was simply told in a dismissive manner to start speaking. The dismissive and demeaning manner of this hiring manager made for a very confusing and frustrating interview. I did the best I could, asked questions about what exactly they were looking for and attempted to guess once I understood they simply would not be forthcoming about it. What questions were asked were not relevant to the job description of the position I applied for. Also, I was asked to analyze in under 60 seconds an extremely complex and wordy legalese clause that they later admitted to needing outside counsel to interpret and has caused a lot of issues within the organization itself. While I was able to get a close enough interpretation in the extremely limited time allotted, the hiring manager laughed in a very condescending manner at my inability to get it correct when it needed much longer, more context and significantly more clarification. They proceeded to speak negatively of their client. I was given the opportunity to ask my own questions to which the hiring manager answered in a very annoyed manner, repeating much of what I had said during the interview. The interview ended abruptly, no indication of next steps or final decision making process. The recruiter never spoke up or said a word in edge wise. I was walked out and left feeling confused and gaslighted. Needless to say, this was the most unprofessional and disorganized interview I have ever attended. I came home, researched the employee reviews of this company and feel like I dodged a bullet. The manner in which the interview and hiring manager handled this process speaks volumes to the mentality to which they treat their employees. While I am more than experienced for this role, I am glad this was not a good match and will never consider working where such individuals hold a place of leadership in the organization. Disgraceful.

Smooth process and welcoming team. Welcoming experience and would recommend applying to anyone considering. Important to do some background on the company and its history before hand and expect the general interview questions for first round.
