Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa The Marketing Lab (Brisbane).
Entrevista
I interviewed a few months ago and found it to be quite an intense process considering the job description. I definitely got the impression that the owner was quite a control freak, and not a very kind person like I had hoped, which was disappointing. There also was quite a strong emphasis on finding someone who fit in with the exisiting team. I understand that (to a point) but when it got to a whole psychological evaluation, I found it to be very intrusive and not at all necessary. I didn’t end up getting an offer in the end, which upon reflection, I believe was a blessing in disguise.

Entrevista
Initially, the process started off on the right foot. However, my enthusiasm quickly waned as I progressed through the subsequent stages of the interview process. The first step was a brief 30-minute phone interview, which seemed to serve as a preliminary screening. Following the phone interview, I was invited to an in-person panel interview that lasted for an hour. I was then required to complete full psychometric and cognitive abilities testing at home, which seemed somewhat excessive for the role level. They do comprehensive testing for all levels to ensure 'fit'. Additionally, I was called back for a two-hour in-person psychometric testing analysis. The session felt more like a comparison with a C-level executive rather than a genuine evaluation of my potential fit within the organisation. It was uncomfortable and, again, seemed excessive. An in-depth reference check was then conducted. I was invited to a company dinner, which turned out to be an unpleasant experience. Little did I know that the entire three-hour dinner was being professionally filmed without my consent for use in a recruitment video. This lack of transparency regarding the purpose of the event and the recording aspect made me feel uneasy and I felt violated my privacy. Overall, my experience was disappointing and uncomfortable.
