Overly complicated process that should have been a red flag from the start. I need to start off by saying I have had many positive interactions within the university’s various departments; however, this was not one. Interview was moved multiple times due to their scheduling conflicts, apparently the entire team needed to be present for the two-part interview. I just rolled with it thinking maybe it really is a tight team and critical everyone be there. I went in with high energy and extremely excited while I looked around at the team staring off into space paying little to no attention while I answered common boilerplate questions. I have never been put in such and odd interview situation and it really seemed like I was the only person excited too actually be there. I just felt very discouraged after so much prep and importance was placed on the team needing to be there. At the end I was told I would need to “turn-n-burn” projects and the work would only need to be average at best. It struck me a bit odd, but I tried to take it as they just have a heavy workload and wanted to iterate that. Overall, I was not offered the position, thought I would have thought prior experience with the brand and a genuine love for the university would have meant something. After following up I was not even giving the decency of a reply, having been a part of the university for so long and a past student I find this to be rather rude and unprofessional. Again, I have had many positive interactions within the various university departments, however something is off here and be protective of your time and energy.
