Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 dia. Fui entrevistado pela The Vitamin Shoppe (San Francisco, CA) em jan. de 2011

Apply via the website. Contacted within 2 weeks by phone from the district manager. Phone screening first, followed by in person interview. I felt it was more of a get to know you interview than a get to know what you've done type of interview...the district manager was social and pleasant.

A role playing scenario of me entering an existing store as the new store manager. Basically, it was a mess, and he was looking to me for guidance on where to start cleaning it up from all aspects (store merchandizing standards, employees arriving late, dress code violations, backroom a mess, registers off, etc).

A little clunky, but not enough to deter you from going through the process. Several interview tiers to go through for a retail position, in my opinion. Phone screen, then multiple interviews with various members of upper management.

Interview with DM and Regional Manager, Understand P&L, customer focus and offering additional products. Connecting with customers is key to success on the store level to increase profitability of the store. Knowing and owning the business is very important. Identifying customer needs and having an attitude of helping will get you far. Be sure to ask open ended questions to customers to identify their needs. The experience was comfortable.
