      Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Thredd.

      I applied through a recruitment agency (ACL Recruitment) who then interviewed me on the phone. The interviewer thought he was interviewing me for a different role, so I had to correct him. He had next to no knowledge of the job and the client, which I found strange and unprofessional. I was called in for a face to face interview with two people at their Richmond office. The building was difficult to find, as there wasn't any notices on the building as to what the name of it was. When I got into the building, I noticed the same company had their sister company's name near the buzzer and office door! The interviewers seemed quite relaxed and disinterested. Both were dressed very informally including someone at the executive level, which I did not expect. The one at that level was not excellent in spoken English and made some grammatical errors, which was unexpected. They spent so much time asking me to explain small pieces of code and I could notice they were not keeping track of time. Some of the technical questions I was asked were, quite frankly, ridiculous. They were too advanced and specific for a junior role. I couldn't see how some of the very narrow and specific questions would somehow determine one's suitability for the job. Anyone can simply memorise the answers to specific questions, and it would prove nothing. But they couldn't see the big picture, I feel. Thereafter, I was asked to produce a complex piece of code from my memory without the use of any methods! They then asked me to explain the code, before interrupting me by ending the interview, which I found RUDE. It seemed they wanted to go home (due to their inability to prevent the interview from overshooting), so they autocratically told me to stop explaining! Showed something about the company; they are probably not good at managing time. From the questions they asked and their artificial criteria, I got the impression they were after someone more senior than a mere junior, who spends most of their life staring in front of a PC memorising highly technical material and performing technical tasks (which is probably what their staff do). During the interview, I was told certain criteria are essential for the role, but this was not communicated to me by the recruitment agency. Neither did they bother to include this in the job advert. This is a common trick by agencies, to make job adverts as generic as they can to draw many into applying, to increase their database of CVs and increase the competition for you, while simultaneously giving them more chances of earning commission. The recruitment agency gave me no tips to prepare for before the interview, no proper requirements for the role and no advice on finding the difficult to locate building. One criterion the agency hid from me was that I needed to have a specific grade for a certain qualification (which really only a few countries offer). If I did not have this, then I was deemed unsuitable for the role. This is a ludicrous way of thinking which fails to take into the grand scheme of things. Not meeting this narrow criterion in no way proves one is unworthy for a job. One can have the sufficient level of skills without a certificate saying that one has a specific qualification (especially if it was issued YEARS ago, it would have no bearing on one's CURRENT level of skills). Moreover, such an artificial criterion disqualifies all candidates who studied in a country which never offered such a qualification! Given the agency were unclear on what their client wanted, I cannot confidently trust that they gave me all reasons why I wasn't offered the job (especially given that hiding reasons for rejection is another trick agencies play). On the whole, I disliked the experience as the recruitment agency was misleading, the interviewers were very picky and narrow in their crteria and unable to consider the big picture. Don't bother with Global Processing Services. Their sister company (Flex-e-Vouchers Limited), each year from 2010 to 2015 have suffered a loss in net worth plus from 2014 to 2015, their liabilities grew by nearly 80%! Also, I would advise everyone not to go through a recruitment agency, as they slow down the process, create barriers between you and their client, etc.
