Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). Fui entrevistado pela Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) em set. de 2017

I reached out to a recruiter directly, and was set up with a technical phone screen. The recruiter mentioned that because I had applied in the past, and had finished a coding challenge then, I wouldn't have to do it again. The phone interview was set up quickly and was pretty standard. After moving on, I was invited onsite to their HQ in San Francisco.
The on-sites consisted of 1 technical interview, then a 30-minute lunch interview, and then 3 more 1-hour technical interviews. Their interviews all started with a simple "Tell me about project X" that you've done. It only takes about 10 minutes, but it's probably good to prepare answers for these. Each of the interviews were done on a laptop in a shared HackerRank.
The thing with Thumbtack is that they expect your code to compile and run for all interviews. If you're not prepared for this, it can be a pretty big shock, especially if you're used to doing pseudocode on the whiteboard. I'm not a huge fan of this because you end up wasting a lot of time at the end fixing syntax and compiler errors. Remember your imports!
After the interviews, my recruiter came in to check in and answer any final questions.

One round of recruiter call, the recruiter rescheduled the call 5 times (not exaggerating). when we finally got on the call he sounded unenthusiastic about the company, lots of sighs, even said that he's already in a friday mood (it was a wednesday). Asked me about what I knew about the company, I gave him a high level description, he made fun of me for not giving detailed enough info and not doing my research before the interview.. overall he came of as rude. will not be moving forward with them. He also seemed very stuck on the leveling of the position, this could be a good thing but I've never had a recruiter needing me to have the exact title from my last company, as far as I know, these titles mean different things at different companies.

The entire interview process was straightforward and efficient. The recruiter was thorough in explaining the nuances of the role and steps of the interview process during our initial call. After the technical interview (online challenge via Hackerrank), he prepped me for the virtual onsite and made sure I felt confident and prepared. (I'm interviewing at several different companies and many of them don't even offer a prep call or guidance along the way.) This left me with a really positive impression about Thumbtack overall. I didn't receive an offer, but my experience throughout the process was positive and the recruiter said he would let me know if they other roles open where I might be a better fit, which I appreciated. Keeping my fingers crossed to hear from them in the future.

Not great. Would not recommend applying to this company but do so at your own risk. Person interviewing me seemed nice though. They did not seem to know what they wanted from me as an engineer.
