      Entrevista

      This processes was the weirdest process to get into their network. I have to go through 5 rounds of interviews. First was a language review to see if I knew English, second was a portfolio review, third was a test to critique a site, last two I had to do design tests twice. The morons at this place didn't clearly know how to give directions and my waste of a design test was done incorrectly. I had to do it again and the man who interviewed me rejected me because I didn't have a color of a specific functionality to what he liked when the test was "open ended". Everyone's opinion is subjective. Since I was rejected I'm now on a waitlist or i paused application for 1 year and I will never apply to this place again. Don't make the mistake of meeting with these people. They give you open ended brief with the ability to show your creativity when in fact they set you up for failure when you don't do something that they like. Very subjective. He even told me everything was perfect, but because of one thing that was not right according to him rejected me. So he said because he had to learn a hard lesson earlier in life I am going to have to do he same thing for the same "mistake" I made by not being accepted.

      The last phase of the Design screening process includes a test with instructions that are intentionally open-ended to mimic real-world scenarios, It sounds like a rare concession was made in your case and you were given a second chance at this test because you felt the instructions were too unclear. It's incorrect to say Toptal would reject a candidate simply because we didn't 'like' his or her work. An applicant is failed if there are noticeable flaws, errors, or inconsistencies in the design, and we are always transparent about our reasons for rejection. We do encourage applicants to reapply at a later date, once they've improved their skills or gained more experience. The opportunity remains on the table for you.
