      Entrevista

      The interview process consisted of 4 steps: 1. The first interviewer was very nice and friendly, it was mainly to get to know my background and experience. I also got the feeling that she was checking my english (my second language) and conversational skills; she asked me stuff like "why do I want to join totpal". She also explained how toptal works and provided me with tools to study for the next online coding test in Codility. I encourage you to do first the demo test and check hackerrank too to prepare. 2. Codility test: this was the most difficult part for me: it consisted of three coding challenges, one of them was not easy but not as hard os the other two. I just completed two challenges, with one at 1005 and the other one at 70%, since my solution didn't passed all the tests. 3. Screening test: After I finished my codility test, I received an email asking me to schedule an interview with a toptaler. This interviewer asked me to share my screen and open whatever environment I felt more comfortable with, so I used xcode and swift. The two questions were very easy; I solved the first problem in 5 minutes but got stuck for 10 minutes in the second one, but managed to solve it on time. About the interviewer: he didn't seem very friendly or helpful like other interviewers.

      The most difficult question was on the codility test; it was about negabinaries, I can't post the exact problem but I recommend to read about that topic.

      There were s interviews, an HR one and a technical one, and a project. The interviewer, especially the tech guys, all said they were senior developers but I couldn't start any conversation with them related to any technology, ranging from basic to niche ( React to Graph QL). Seemed really incompetent. The project was a really big project, way too much for a coding assignment, and all they were interested in were niche cases. seams all they were interested in was showing you that you are not good, even if in the case where their specifications were wrong it was somehow still my fault. One of the worst interviews I've been at. I'm already on 3 other talent pools and I go to interview once a week but this was was really bad.
