      Entrevista

Had an introduction phone call from a National Recruiter (friendly guy - his name is Matthew W.). He wanted to make sure I knew what I was applying for. We scheduled a phone interview for a couple days later which was pretty straightforward. This interview was seemingly a standard evaluation to see if I had the basic traits and skills to be successful at being an Account Executive. After this interview, he advised I take an online assessment to better gauge my knowledge and skills. The assessment along with an introduction course lasted 45 minutes. The course consisted of actual phone recordings Account Executives would have with prospects. After this was a ~40 question test which gauged your computer application skills (primarily Microsoft Outlook) and your geographic knowledge of the continental United States. This was quite simple (but I already handle this with my current job so I easily scored a 97.36%). During my phone interview, we scheduled a Skype-like interview for a few days later (using a program called HireVue). This was quite in-depth and lasted 40 minutes. The recruiter dug deep to see if I was fit for this position. He asked questions like "What is the hardest thing you have ever done?". He also went through my resume to see how my skills and work experiences applied to this position. After this interview, the recruiter scheduled another HireVue interview this time with the Satellite Office Leader of the office I applied for (South Bend, IN). The recruiter tasked me with an assignment (which was due prior to my interview with the Satellite Office Leader) to come up with 20 different manufacturers and their distributors (if they went through any). 10 were dry-goods. 5 were refrigerated goods and 5 were frozen goods. Also, I was tasked to come up with 6 transportation carriers (each having a fleet of 50+ trucks) which 2 hauled dry-goods, 2 hauled refrigerated goods and 2 had flat-bed equipment. This was quite extensive and took me 6 hours to complete. A few days after the initial webcam interview, I had my webcam interview with the Satellite Office Leader of the South Bend, IN office. This time, I had the interview through my smartphone. The Satellite Office Leader was with a colleague of his who helped him start the office they're at. To be quite honest, this interview was by far the hardest interview I've ever had in my entire life. It lasted 90 minutes and it was structured like (to me at least) a very difficult sales conversation where your 'customer' has no emotion or shows no interest whatsoever. Questions were being asked and re-worded to see if I would change my answer. I sincerely appreciated it because that showed they don't just hire anyone. It was very exhausting but I honestly enjoyed it because it was a legitimate sales conversation which is a big reason why I wanted this position. They went deeper into detail with my resume to see how my skills and previous experiences applied to what they were looking for. They ended the interview stating they'll have a decision in a few business days. The recruiter contacted me a few days later stating the Satellite Office Leader needed to speak to me for further clarification. I advised to have him call me as soon as he is available. A couple hours later, he called wanting examples of the things I told him I did. He wanted to make sure I wasn't a flake and delivered what I said I would deliver. I advised I am all that and I am truly what you're looking for. He explained further about his office being a new office and it not having all the 'bells and whistles' the other established offices had and I advised him I did not care about that. The conversation ended with him stating he will be speaking with the recruiter who will later contact me regarding their final decision. Later that day, the recruiter called to offer me the position. I was incredibly thankful for the offer and gladly took it. My tip: If you're applying for this position with the 'hourly wage' mentality, stop and apply for something else. This position is incredibly valuable because no longer will you be trading your time for money...rather, you'll be earning from what you produce. The base salary is only to ensure you can pay your bills and eat something if you can't meet your sales goals (treat it like a financial safety net). However, that is nowhere near the potential of this position. Focus on what really matters and eventually you'll triple and quadruple the base salary per year. It won't be easy but it will be worth it. To conclude, I completed my drug test this morning. Now, I wait for my background checks to finalize my on boarding process. Can't wait to start at the South Bend, IN office. Very thankful and blessed to have applied for this company and have been offered an amazing opportunity. I look forward to helping grow the new South Bend, IN office and also help my family reach financial freedom in ways we could've only dreamed of.

      Perguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pergunta 1

Total Quality Logistics only hires 4% of it's applicants. Meaning, out of 100 applicants, only 4 get hired. But, out of that 4, only 1 succeeds to earning $100,000+ per year. Why do you believe you're this person?

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I believe there was a total of about three interviews and then your hired. They will most likely hire you and if you don’t make it through proving grounds that’s when you will get fired

Multiple phases and conversations. Very money-oriented. If you are interested in building capital, it is a good experience, but they make it clear that the job is a grind. Overall, it is a good interview experience, and they make it clear that you will be thoroughly trained.

The interview process with TQL was simple and easy-going. They have a three-step interview process, the first two are conversation-based with a recruiter, and the last one is with her manager.
