This was Transmit Security’s third reach out. Previously it simply was not the right time or right role. Until the most recent interaction, I always walked with a very high opinion of Transmit Security: a professional organization with smart individuals that had high emotional intelligence.
I want to be clear, I never formally applied.
I had a number of conversations with the Head of Product Marketing about “culture” which seems hilarious now. Shortly after recusing myself, the external recruiter that was walking me through the process resigned!
Transmit Security has become the perfect storm of low EQ and high ego. The net-net: Transmit Security gives a masterclass in weaponized incompetence. With an ego forward internal communication style that leans into high degrees of disrespect and uncensored isms.
After I recused myself, I walked away thinking: how did a rather professional and people first organization deteriorate into a bro centered culture?
Take a hard look at the team! If you do not look like them, you are wasting your time.
Good tech, but not worth the mental drama.
8 weeks long, messy, poor communication, slow. In the final round, they decided that the role description was changing from what I initially interviewed for -- a complete and total waste of time with a company that has no idea what they want. They need to learn the basics of candidate recruiting, communication, and respect. Total waste of time and effort. Did not even have the courtesy to thank me for all my time.
