10 minute phone interview followed by an in-person group interview. The phone interview was fast, but fine. One question: Was I aware of their supervision model, & how do I deal with criticism? The interviewer said she was moved by the vulnerability I showed in my answer so she invited me right then & there to an in-person session coming up in 2 weeks.
At the in-person session, the owner led an academic discussion about how we use language to describe people we serve; i.e., “patient” vs. “client” vs. something else. Through their anxiety, applicants tried to articulate intellectual arguments about words. An interesting discussion, but nothing about applicants’ humanity, expertise, or experience? Just this to screen potential staff? Ok. The atmosphere was really cold. No introductions. Nothing to welcome or set people at ease. Sharply western cultured feel; cold, competitive.
Some of us chatted as we left. What was THAT? One of the applicants had been blunted by the owner's reaction to him. I felt badly for him.
I’m grateful for the experience. Clarity about what you want is critical. Clarity about what you don’t want is super helpful.

How much do you know about our rigorous supervision model, and how do you respond to criticism?

I had a first and second round interview in the spring of 2024, and after the second interview, received an email that they moved forward with other candidates. Thankfully I checked Glassdoor during the interview process. I was suspicious of all of the glowing reviews standing in opposition to just a few absolutely scathing ones. I figured something was off and starting asking around. If you are in the interview process, I highly recommend you do the same, and speak to someone who has left the practice. After talking to some former employees and hearing what it's like to work here, I think it's an understatement to say that I dodged a bullet. Definitely pay attention to the negative reviews and do not take them with a grain of salt or chalk them up to "oh, this person is just acting unnecessarily vindictive via an online forum" because I promise you that is not the case here.

1st interview (virtual, 10 min): are you prepared for an emotionally difficult supervision structure?
2nd interview (in-person, group interview, 90 min): what should we call people who seek therapy (i.e. patient, client, etc.)?
then we completed an exercise based on an upcoming intake (like, what are your thoughts/feelings/etc. in preparation your first session with this client, based on the information you have from their intake call)

First interview step was a strict 10 min video call where the interviewer asked 1 question the whole interview. The question was how you have taken criticism during supervision if it was not to your liking. Seems to be aligned with other reviews stating they are not the best when it comes to supervision because they do it in a demeaning way.
