I applied online and had a long, detailed interview with a friend of the person hiring for this role. This woman did not work for the company but had some insight into the personality type of the person I'd be supporting. The conversation went well and she implied I'd be invited to interview on site. She asked for my references, whom I contacted so they'd be expecting her call. After that I was ghosted, and none of my follow up emails were responded to. Super disappointing because I truly value the time of my references as well as my own time. I did not feel it was respected in this situation.
