The interview process consisted of about three rounds, with the last one being a Panel interview. The difficulty of the questions was decent enough. Although it felt, after a while, that they had already chosen someone else in mind, and the nature of the interviews eventually made it clear that I was being driven closer to a rejection. The feedback I received on why I was rejected was, in fact opposite of everything that I said in the interview and delivered in the most unconventional and unhinged way possible.

I had a video call with the recruiter first. Then she set up a session with the hiring manager, the VP. It was a great call and I got really interested in the company and their product. Then they set up a couple of panel interviews with the team. I really enjoyed speaking with the team in a couple of meetings. They asked relevant questions about data science and management styles. There was only one session that I felt like the questions were more about fulfilling curiosity and learning from my experiences rather than asking me relevant questions to the role. Overall I really liked their product and team, even though I didn't get the job.

Entrevista
They only followed up with me after I messaged asking if there was any feedback from my take home code assignment.
Played phone tag with me for hours, then ended up texting me that they would want to offer a lower position and salary.
This is all without actually meeting the tech team and even talking about their stack. There was not even clear feedback about why this was the case or what to improve on.
Thank you for wasting hours of my time with nothing to gain from it. Will never apply again.
