Shortly after submitting my application, the recruiter contacted me to schedule an interview and complete an assessment. During the interview, I was asked about my work history and what brought me to applying for Tyler. She asked how I managed my client projects. I was also asked if I would be available for the entire training period, salary expectations, and if ok with travel 25-50%. She did not mention anything noteworthy about Tyler, i.e., why it was a great place to work or information about their growth. (During my first interview, I appreciate hearing all the things the company has to offer me, basically...why I should be attracted to working there. None of this was mentioned and I was not given the opportunity to ask questions. )
After a brief discussion, she said the hiring manager would contact me early the following week. She mentioned how much I would like him, that he was a good guy. I had not heard anything by Wednesday, so I followed up. I emailed the recruiter three times before I received a response. When she finally did, she said the managers were at a conference last week and they needed more time to make final decisions.
At that point, I decided to withdraw my application. If their recruitment process is any indication of how it is like to work there, no thank you. I have interviewed many times for various sized companies and never had this experience. In my opinion, companies seeking Talent need to have a streamlined process, good communication and timely responses. I believe they need to bring their A game to the table, just as much as I do.
