Upon arriving at UKfast, feeling fairly nervous, i was welcomed by a very friendly member of the reception staff. i was asked to fill in a visitor form and handed a pass. The member of staff then offered me a drink and guided me over to a seating area where we discussed our weekends as though we had known each other for years. this gave me a brilliant first impression of the company and immediately put me at ease. After a short while, i was welcomed again by the MD (although i didn't know that at the time) who was also very pleasant and guided me through to the company training area which was to be used as the testing area for my psychometric & aptitude tests which took around 40 minutes to fill in in total. and i then sat a short technical test paper which was designed to measure my technical proficiencies and weaknesses. shortly after completing the testing phase of the interview, i was greeted by the company IT Director who guided me into an interview room for the discussion phase. The interview was very relaxed, it was more like a conversation with a friend or family member as opposed to the typical quick fire high pressure traditional interview, i found this to be a very good interview process as it allowed a decent conversation to take place that was relative to the task and i felt that i could put portray myself fully and openly without feeling like i had said too little or too much. A week later i was invited back for a Second interview, at which time i met with the MD of UKFast, we had an informal discussion for around 1 hour where we spoke about my previous experiences, aspirations and my interests in general. I was also asked if i would like to know the results of my aptitude test and my psychometric tests. i can say the testing is very accurate, the psychometric test results were like somebody who i had known all of my life, had written 2 pieces of a4 about me and my personality with only one slight misinterpretation.
