Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 meses. Fui entrevistado pela UNFI em set. de 2024
Entrevista
30 min pre-screen zoom call with a recruiter, recruiter was nice, but late to the call. Job was presented in the description as a program coordinator working with vendors and servicing them in the interview and job posting. They asked for my salary expectations. My ask was mid range for what they posted, while being line with my experience and market. The recruiter acknowledged my request was mid-range, but they were budgeting for less for this position. PTO offered was only 2 weeks per year plus holidays with no additional personal time or sick leave. Recruiter also demanded to know the reason I left my last three positions which seems like an outdated question.
I moved to the next to the round of interviews with the dept manager and recruiter. (The recruiter was again late.) The job as the manager presented it would actually be software support for the international sales dept which included 30+ sales people and all of their clients. The software sales support team would only be 3 people total including this new position, which would also be expected to support other software platforms once onboarded and trained. I asked about the companies values and initiatives that are listed on the company’s own page, neither employee could speak knowledgeably about them despite both employees being in the company for about 10 years each and attempted to deflect from the conversation (“I’m not sure where you found that article”, “That’s not my wheelhouse”.) This interview was otherwise pleasant and lasted just shy of an hour.
One month after this interview, which was a week or two past the deadline the recruiter provided, I received an email informing me that they were pausing the position because they were planning to offer it to an internal contractor once his other project was complete, but if that fell through, they would give me a call.
TL;DR I felt undervalued from the start. UNFI should have internally clarified the duties and realistic pay rate for this job and if they were really looking for internal vs external candidates.
I was disappointed as UNFI seems to have launched interesting, progressive initiatives in the past 8 years that I would have liked to had the opportunity to be part of.
