I believe there is room for improvement in the process. Unfortunately, the interview did not meet professional expectations due to several issues.
Firstly, the scheduled call was not initiated at the agreed-upon time, requiring me to reach out to proceed with the interview. Upon connecting, I was informed that the intended interviewer was unavailable, and a different individual conducted the interview instead. The interviewer appeared unprepared, seemingly unaware of the specific location and position for which I was applying and did not know of the scheduled interview or who I was. After I clarified these details, the interviewer mistakenly referenced a different location hours away, indicating a lack of attention to the information provided. Additionally, the audio quality was poor, making it difficult to communicate effectively, and the interviewer’s tone came across as unprofessional. This was a phone interview schedule over a week in advance. The interviewer sounded hung over and sounded bothered when I asked her for clarification on something she said because I could not understand her through the bad reception on the phone. This told me all I needed to know about the company culture there.
