Process involves getting a four year college degree, and getting accepted into the aviation program. Acceptance is based on performance in college. Choice of major does not matter, don't let ROTC or Academy pressure you into a major that you'll hate. The first F-18 pilot I met was an agricultural major, not engineering.

Wasn't one. I just applied. I wanted to join so then I looked up how to do so and did what it told me to do. Then they told me that I was to do some things at some places and then it was official.

There is not an interview process to become a pilot. Simply follow the testing and schooling process and perform well enough to continue to a fleet replacement squadron and eventually make it to the fleet.

It was like having a salesperson sale you on an idea that they knew was not true. They just wanted me to sign and promised I would be able to switch over after I had a contract. Not the case
