I received an email that said I had been selected for an interview through HireVue. The email gave three resources to check out including "10 Million Patents", the Patent Application Process, and an hour-long video about patents and relevant laws. There was a one-week (7-day) deadline; I received the email Monday at 4pm and had until the next Monday at midnight to complete the interview. They sent reminders after four days and on the seventh day. HireVue had an informative video about its process. You don't have to log in. You click the link in the email to get to HireVue. You get a practice session to test your audio and video. My Lenovo laptop's camera would not work, so I had to hop on my phone. Then you get a welcome video from USPTO and get an overview. There were five questions with no introduction. You speak to your phone camera. You get two minutes to prep and five minutes to answer the question. You can hit stop to stop recording if you don't need the full five minutes. Then you can review your video. You can save and submit the video, or you can discard and try one more time. There are only two attempts per questions. At the end, you submit and get a "Thank you for Applying" from USPTO.

It was asynchronous on HireVue. You get 5 questions total. For each question, you get two attempts, and you get to record your answer up to 3 minutes. It will play back your recording and if you aren't satisfied with your first answer, you can use your second attempt which is up to another 3 minutes. I think the first two questions are standard like "why would you be a good fit", and the questions after that are just random questions about your work ethic, skills, etc.
