Entrevista
Coming from an HR background, every step of their hiring process had a red flag. Whoever is crafting their policies and procedures is about 30 years behind.
1- They're completely back in office w/o any hybrid option and a strange dress code
2-They ask a salary history. Yes Wisconsin allows it, but most companies have the sense to realize it pushes some candidates away and has an effect of perpetuating wage discrimination based on race and gender, a big reason why it's illegal in so many states
3- they ask for lots of personality assessments. I'd maybe understand having one, but they use four. Some are pop psychology MBTI type tests that, again, have a disparate impact on minority groups and no scientific basis. Others included a writing assessment and a lengthy assessment related to sales. My role has nothing to do with sales but I was given an approximately 80 question survey on cold-calling and retail.
4- They have an expectation of onsite interviews. After explaining that I wasn't able to go onsite in their timeframe and offering to withdraw if it wouldn't work, I was given a remote interview option. During our scheduled time, the recruiter clearly forgot my interview was remote and asked to reschedule.
5-The interviewer was fine but clearly unenthusiastic about the company and its policies. She hinted at the founders still being very involved with daily operations of the company. At this point, a serious issue with founder's syndrome seems to make the most sense for their lengthy and poorly managed hiring process. They're using embarrassingly backwards processes that reflect poorly on their business.
