I applied for an ops position in marketing but when I had my phone interview she said that it was supposed to be for the engineering department. The interview was self driven and was never once asked about anything I did that was technical. The recruiter sounded very receptive of the things I was telling her and she even said I was a great fit. I got a rejection letter 30 min after sending in a thank you letter.
