It was one-hour, with Head Research Software Engineer and two other Research SEs. Interview is mainly a presentation of one of your past software project, with emphasise on the lifecycle, and approach to development and maintenance. There were a lot of back-and-forth and follow-up questions which were very well asked. There were also general competency-based questions.

First interview: give 10 minute presentation on a coding project you've worked on, follow-up questions, standard questions about RSE and the role, finally ask your own questions. Total 1 hour long.
