I found this experience amusing more than anything... The CEO invited me for an interview. He asked the typical questions about my current JD. But when he asked me about my current salary, he suddenly made a 180 and immediately assumed that I would demand the same salary. He immediately stopped the interview.
I wasn’t offended or anything, but just a word of advice, be more professional in explaining your expectations on salary range etc. and also, give the candidate the time to elaborate on his skills, current position, etc. and ask him what’s his expectations for this role, and simply not dismissing him.
