Got to the second round. First round with recruiter was wonderful, she was great and was able to provide a ton of information about the company and the product. Was able to answer all of my initial questions which made it easy to see if it was the right fit to move on, which in the moment I thought it was.

Did a phone screen with a recruiter who reached out. You could tell they were new to their job and not experienced. They jumped to ask me probing questions about my background before bothering to give me a first hand account of the role and why it would be exciting to work at VTS. I was very turned off by their questioning and the attitude of “I have a a job so tell me why you want it.” Rather than “here’s an awesome job, here’s why the company is awesome, now tell me about you.” Especially since it was for a competitive sales job and they reached out to me while I was happily at another company, not the other way around. Anyways, left a bad taste in my mouth and speaks to their culture if they don’t invest in candidate experience.
