Don't do a single assignment for them, even the smallest one. They ask to work on extensive assignments, something you'll end up working on for more than 15 days, and then tell you they don't have the hiring budget. I applied for a Growth Marketer role in late 2019 and early 2020 and was first interviewed by their head of growth. After the initial screening round, I was first asked to work on an assignment (basically a white paper outline) and later asked to complete the white paper. I did complete it and then after a couple of rounds of review, I was interviewed by their VP (Marketing and Product Management). During the interview, the VP confirmed that I am a fit for the role and next I will be speaking to the CEO. Later after a week, I received a communication from their Head of Growth that that they can't continue with the hiring due to re-structuring of annual budget and will contact me later. This after they asked me to work on an extensive white paper of more than 5000 words during the Christmas holidays. Now in 2021, I noticed a similar role advertised on Linkedin from them and applied, thinking that I have already invested a lot of time for them without charging a single penny, I should be hired this time given I had completed most of the process last year. I was invited for initial interview by their Product Marketing Manager. To avoid wasting further time of either side, I mailed him the old white paper with his head of growth in CC (2020 hiring manager) to get the old feedback before the call. Nevertheless, he interviewed me, wasting a good one hour again. Now a week after the interview I was informed by the HR that somehow I didn't make it through. Sounds like a good company to you? It doesn't to me. Think before applying here and think 10 times before spending a single minute for doing any assignment for them . It's not about selection/rejection, it's about asking someone to work for 15 days for you for free and then saying I don't have the budget. I wasted my entire 2019 Christmas holiday on this assignment.
