The interview went extremely well. I felt I answered the questions them satisfactory. I don't believe it could have gone any better. I was asked about my prior experience at BCBSAL and what I handled. I was not asked as many questions I anticipated, but we also talked of personal matters, which relaxed me and gave me a false sense of hope in landing the position.
My in person interview was Friday, January 29th, 2021. I expected to hear something from them, one way or the other within a week. After hearing nothing, I reached out to them, OVER A MONTH LATER, March 3rd, 2021, (after notifying the HR contact through LinkedIn I was going to send her an email, just in case my email did not go through). I asked why I had not heard from them. The very same day I received a response. I was basically told that for the BENEFIT CONSULTANT position, they "assessed the needs of the department and the role and shifted their focus to look for candidates that have an HR background." Yet I had 20 years of health insurance benefits experience? If I had not reached out to them, they would not have followed up with me. I found that a bit unprofessional and inconsiderate.
