Candidatei-me por indicação de um funcionário. O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Veeam Software (Praga) em ago. de 2025

The process started with an online technical test focused on C# fundamentals, algorithms, and problem-solving tasks. After completing the test, I was invited to a technical interview with the hiring manager and senior developers. They asked practical coding questions, discussed my past project experience, and also evaluated knowledge of .NET, OOP principles, and multithreading. The process was structured, professional, and quite thorough.

Process was very messy.
Got invited for online assessment by the Recruiter. My result was not accepted initially and got rejected by email, the recruiter went silent after that. Despite that I received an AI-generated message from same recruiter saying how interesting my profile looks to them and that they want me in their recruitment process.
This time, after completing the test again, got invited to an interview. Interview consisted mostly from same topics as the test(problem-solving around parallelization and concurrency, networks, modern C++), so I answered them perfectly. By the end of an interview I learned that there would be a 2nd technical round with the manager. Despite the said Recruiter telling me before, when I asked about the process: "there will be only one interview and that's all".
I got an email reply in a week, that was for sure carefully written by a person and not generated, saying that I have made 2 mistakes on questions, which were definitely made up, since I remember that I answered them correctly.
While they also mentioned how good I fit the role and how they value my experience highly, but because of said errors they cannot proceed with me.
All in all - the process was very messy, feedback - unjustified. Besides that - the interviewers have suggested to communicate in russian, which I declined. As it seems - most of communication is done in russian there.
While asking the interviewers "how do you like working at Veeam?" - they struggled to provide a reasonable answer and were clearly showing signs of unsatissfaction with the company.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback — we genuinely appreciate it. We're sorry the process was confusing and inconsistent. Clear, honest communication from our recruiting team is something we hold ourselves to, and it's clear we fell short here. Your points have been noted and will be shared internally to help us improve. We appreciate the time and effort you put in and wish you the best in your search.
HR round was pleasant, but the technical interviews at this company were designed by someone either very old or very misled about what a technical interview should actually be about. Most of the questions are leetcode level, everything in the process is logged including your mouse movements and whether you leave your browser tab. I don't feel that a Software Engineer's job is to memorize all the obscure features about a library, but rather demonstrate the process of thinking, describing your past experience and foremost, showing your style of work on some tiny-scope project.
