Interview process started with a recruiter reaching out to me on linkedin with the job description and asking if I was interested in applying. I waited for 2 months before responding since I wasn't actively looking at that time. In January of 2021 I engaged with the recruiter to see if the role was still open and if I can get a better understanding of it. The recruiter called me and explained the company history, initiatives and role in details. I was intrigued by the work they were doing and immediately wanted to move forward with the next steps. I had a phone interview within a week of the initial recruiter conversation and it went really well. Then I had 5 more interviews scheduled over the next few weeks, first 2 were grouped together in one day and the next 3 over the next week or so. All except one were behavioral, the interviewers were very friendly and helped me along the way , it was more of a bidirectional conversation with lots of questions related to my experience with examples of situations I encountered and how I handled them. Technical design question was related to designing a p2P mobile payment platform with backend components/failover and security scenarios. After getting positive feedback from the 6 rounds of 45 minute interviews I was told that feedback was strong and that they would like me to talk to the CTO and the site engineering leader. I was thrilled beyond words at this point since I hoped that this was moving in a positive direction and I was getting very excited to be part of this opportunity to revolutionize healthcare. Talk with CTO went well he asked me about my experience about handling architecture/production issues, team constitution etc. At the end I asked him questions about his vision for the company and what does he expect from me if I were to join Verily. Interview with the site eng leader went well too, similar questions about risk mitigation in projects, scope management etc, in the end she even said hope to talk to you soon. At this point I was almost sure that this is something I wanted to move forward with. I loved the company vision, people and their mission. After waiting for a few days I got an email from the recruiter with a no-go on my candidacy. Needless to say I was truly disappointed and surprised at the same time with the putcome.
