After a long interview process with 2 challenging coding problems and a lot of cultural / work experience questions I secured an offer. They gave a salary under both what I requested at the start and what was advertised on the job posting.
After asking if there was any possible flexibility in the salary, they ignored me for a week before replying with a patronising email about how I was not "all in from day one" - and since I didn't instantly accept the offer they would take it as a no. I have received no communication back since. This week long silence also meant that another offer I had received from another company expired as I never would have expected such a hostile response to asking about the salary. I was left with no offers.
Looking back there were a lot of red flags through the process but I was really excited about the product so ignored them. It doesn't seem that they want employees who advocate for themselves or know their worth, rather people who will do anything to work at such a "world changing" company. I don't expect they took my questions about work life balance well either. Only apply if you're comfortable with a culture that may not respond well to candidates questioning aspects of the offer or working conditions.

it started directly with a hackerrank coding challenge. i did not pass, i don't know more. it was hard, be sure to know the relevant libraries and frameworks. it seems that the level is quite high

Coding challenge of 2h. One problem with BFS/DFS. One problem was on ML / LLMs / retrieval, where one had to complete an already started implementation of a simple retrieval system using faiss + langchain. be sure to have them reharsed, or you'll lose a lot of time

Entrevista
There were about 5 stages, starting with a HackerRank coding test, followed by a couple logic and reasoning tests, one architecture test and a final culture and values evaluation.
The HackerRank test had 3 questions and included one algorithms question and one about basic programming language usage.
The logic tests were straightforward and I passed through these 3 first stages in the course of 1 week.
The final 2 interviews:
- the architecture one was an open ended discussion about an ongoing product solution, where I discussed with one of the founders, Henning, trying to reach a sensible strategy
- the culture interview was peculiar, I was not prepared for being asked some deep questions, which required some introspection, but I was quite pleased by the following discussion I had; this interview was also held by the other founder, Tomás
