I got rejected during the recruiter screening (round 3) because it went over two minutes.
I am sharing this as honest feedback to help others know what to expect. This is a long review because I want to be thorough and transparent. While the company seems to have a good work culture and the recruiters were polite, the overall experience was disappointing and frustrating.
The process began with an online logic and math assessment, followed by a data science project. I spent a lot of time on the project, but I am fairly certain no one actually reviewed it. This made the effort feel like a complete waste of time, especially since it came before any real conversation with the team or recruiter.
The next round was a phone screen with a recruiter. Although courteous, the recruiter lacked a technical background and had limited knowledge about the hiring team or the role itself. That disconnect was a red flag and made the process feel poorly structured. An even bigger red flag was the salary, around $70k for a data scientist position, which is far below industry standards. This should have been included in the job description.
After being rejected, I was offered a fifteen-minute feedback call, which I appreciated. However, the call started late and lasted only three minutes. I was told my phone screen ran two minutes over time and that they were looking for someone more concise. This feedback seemed inconsistent, given that the recruiter asked many questions and spent nearly half the call discussing company culture and their own background. If it had been a timed presentation and I went over, I would understand the concern, but in this context, it felt confusing.
Overall, the experience was underwhelming. If the interview process reflects how things are managed internally, there is serious room for improvement. I have decided not to reapply, and based on other reviews I have seen, I am not alone.
