Pretty disappointed with the attitude from the practice manager that was conducting the interview. Briefly spoke through my CV, questioned my desire to become a vet nurse. Wasn’t really any formal questions but around four situational questions which took me by complete surprise. She pretended to be ringing me and I had to deal with the situation. Now, this was a veterinary care assistant job with the opportunity to train as a vet nurse eventually, she said herself in the interview, that I wasn’t expected to know anything because it was a trainee position. She claimed the situational questions were logic based however I don’t believe they were, you needed experience and a good knowledge, something she original said would be taught on the job, apparently not. She told me I’d hear back in a week but I knew I hadn’t got it, she never got in touch anyway.

I had an informal short phone call, then asked for a sit down interview with head nurse and deputy, it lasted 30 minutes. I was shown around the practice afterwards.
