Entrevista
I had a disappointing experience during the interview process at Viafoura. After being invited to a virtual interview, I spent time preparing and adjusted my schedule accordingly. However, the meeting was abruptly canceled a few days prior with a one-line message and no explanation or attempt to reschedule.
The communication felt impersonal and dismissive, which left a negative impression of the hiring experience. It’s important for candidates to feel that their time and effort are respected, and unfortunately, that was not the case in this instance.

The interview process was 4 steps.
1. Two part take home coding challenge

Pergunta 1
1. Two part take home coding challenge - took about 2 hours. One part was an algorithm, and the second part was a challenge building in React.
2. Chat with Director of Engineering.
Asked me questions about myself, my experience and got to know the product line, and Viafoura.
3. Tech Interview with the Director + 2 developers.
We extended the React portion of the take home coding challenge. The developers were very open and supportive during the interview. It felt like an exchange of ideas rather than them just watching me code.
4. Chat with Product and Agile Coach. Asked behavioural questions about how I worked with product.
All in all, a great experience from beginning to end. Everyone at Viafoura is open and friendly, and were able to answer all my questions every step of the way. I received an offer but had to decline.
I spent time building an application, which was part of their hiring process. When I asked them to at least confirm if they received my submission, they didn't care about even responding to that. This is so much unprofessional.
