      Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Vibe.co (New York, NY).

      Spoke with the initial recruiter. Well prepared and sprinkled in the right amount of details. She quickly moved me to the next step to continue a conversation with another more senior recruiter who was based remotely. The second recruiter seemed oblivious, and it almost felt like she was detached from the company, interview process, the level for the role, compensation structure, and even the headcount goals etc. etc. etc. Although she came prepared with questions for the interview, it was almost as if she was too busy taking notes rather than engaging in a real conversation and listening. I had to repeat myself to give her the data she needed. And when I asked questions, she would turn the question back to me rather than answering them. When I asked how the bonus structure worked, she asked about my comp expectations. Never answered the question.

      I went through a lengthy interview process that required many hours of my time across multiple rounds. While I came in genuinely interested in the role, the lack of proactive communication throughout the process was a major disappointment. I had to follow up to receive updates, which is not what a candidate should have to do after investing that level of time and effort. Timely and consistent communication with candidates should be a baseline expectation, especially for a multi-round process. Strong candidates have options, and a poor experience reflects on the company brand. This is an easy fix. Even a brief check-in email goes a long way in keeping candidates engaged and feeling respected.

      Had a first round call with someone in HR. The call felt pretty rushed and I left with very little understanding about the role or what they were looking for. I was told that I would get feedback in a few days but never heard back - positive or negative. A simple email to close the loop would have made a really big difference.
