I applied via email, and was asked to come into the office for an in-person interview. The interview was quick, and I was informed that I got the job very quickly afterwards. The experience was nice, but it was obvious that there were some tensions at the office due to recent job cuts on the editorial staff. The office has since moved downtown into a more airy office which is a huge upgrade from the dark office they previously had at Astor Place.

I interviewed in person with three people and was asked to create a business plan for how I would strategize getting new clients. The publisher was friendly but serious and direct. They mostly want to know you have the enthusiasm and personality for this job and that you're not conservative.
