Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Virta em out. de 2024
Entrevista
Hurried phone screen with recruiter. He spoke so fast I could barely get a word in edgewise. I was asked one generic "why are you looking" type question and then continued reading from the script. Immediately told me what my salary would be, which was super strange 5 minutes into the call. Scheduled tech interview.
Tech interview was a live exercise, which is fine, but it was super impersonal. Like no "Hi tell me about yourself, tell me about your background, tell me about X/Y/Z things on your resume" to start things off, just join the zoom and screenshare straight into the technical exercise.
There was no real instruction of what the actual expected outcome of things were. I remember step one being "RUN THE SERVER".. like ok what server?
I realize part of the exercise is being how to operate in an unfamiliar code base, but their process could use some work.
After getting thru the tech portion, which I actually finished successfully after asking for some better initial direction, I asked a basic question about the team and our hour was up.
Emailed thanking the interviewer for their time and asked for any feedback.
Generic rejection email the next day with obviously no feedback given.
I've actually never written an interview review (or any other job review for that matter) but this experience was so strange and impersonal I feel like I had to share. I'm actually impressed by what the company mission is, and hope they succeed, but they must be looking for a unicorn in this role, and I wish them luck in their search.

Tech screen was clone a code repo, run the code locally with "go". Make that code fail. Build a docker image with that code and run the docker image locally, Take that docker image and deploy it to a kubernetes cluster (that I had to provide, costing me $$$, not much but still...)
