They were thrilled to meet with me, and very impressed with my experience. They seemed anxious that I might not accept their offer. This was probably the best interview I have ever attended, their promise was that they were ready to make whatever investment is necessary to grow the company. After we agreed that I would start working for them, the salary negotiation process got a little weird, but we finally came to a mutual agreement - however, they required a post-employment non-compete agreement, which seemed very odd. Within my first few weeks working there, I discovered that they did not have an AISC certification. This legally limits their ability to bid jobs requiring anything "structural", which only leaves the odds and ends of "misc. metals" which generally only involve small jobs. As it became obvious that they were NOT going to invest the time and money to obtain this certification, I came to understand that they had mis-represented their position. They laid me off three months later because it was determined that the severely limited amount of sales being generated could not support a sales position.
