I was asked to wait for more than 30 minutes for a manager to come and speak with me when they finally got someone to talk to me for the interview it was not the manager I would be working under. Apparently, the manager I would be working underwent on her lunch break halfway through that 30 min wait and they had just given up on trying to reach her and sent in the first person they found available. The woman I talked to was friendly and heard me out when I explained that the last Walmart I worked for lied on paperwork about how I left the company and that the application process wouldn't allow me to update my information to confirm that I had received my Associate's degree. She promised I would not be treated as I was with my last store and that she would update my paperwork for me to show I received my degree. After being hired on I went back and asked 3 times about the difference in pay because of my degree (I knew it wouldn't be much but some pay is better than none). The first two times I was told they would get back to me and never did, the third time they told me there was nothing they could do because it was past my 30 day mark and they wouldn't be allowed to update my information for 6 months when I would be able to apply for a better position with better pay.

I came in for my interview and the person who had a appointment with me left home and told the deli lead to just walk me around to show me the work area. Which he was great and kind. He watched me show them all the techniques I know for decorating and he was amazed how well I was doing their cake Decorator was impressed and shared pictures with the bakery team lead that had left before my interview. He told me to wait on her call so I did and when we did speak I expressed that I have 3 little kids and that earlier hours work best for me and that I would be open to work any days because she told me she couldn't give me Sunday off but she also was rude when she spoke to me and told me when I saw your application I didn't want to pull your application but the deli lead did anyway so basically she didn't want to hire me in the first place that's why she wasn't there for the interview. I was very thrown off by a loop when she said that and did not want to work somewhere where she didn't like me before she even spoke to me

I interviewed for cake decorator at two different locations and for cashier at another. The interviews were straightforward. However, it wasn't until the 3rd interview that I realized that Walmart lies in all their job postings about the salary range. There is no range! It doesn't matter how much experience you have. They'll only pay you the lowest wage listed and are firm about this. If the job posting says $14-21 (cashier), they’ll only pay you $14. If the posting says $17-22 (cake decorator), they’ll only pay you $17. As I politely explained to them in my last interview, the salary range is a lie, and they would’ve saved us all a lot of time by being honest. I can only assume that Walmart gets away with this because if a current Walmart employee transfers to a different department, their pay level is transferable. However, the job postings imply that the salary range listed is available to everyone. It is not! They said I was "a godsend" and hired me but then ghosted me twice when I politely asked to be paid my worth.

I don't remember any questions other than if I was able to work a split shift. Once I showed them my portfolio of cakes they were impressed. But they don't want to pay the salary they advertise.

Basic interview questions with the Co-Manager and then with the Store Manager. It does take time to hear back from them. Once you do and if you get hired, the process is pretty easy to get started and to get to your first day.
