Was invited to interview in front of a search committee of 8 people. They were looking for a pastor to take over after pastor of 35 years had retired. Perception of committee through verbal and non-verbal language was they were ready for change in their culture as the church was decreasing rapidly in numbers and there were very few young families. They said they were looking for someone to help them move forward, engage the community around them, help them retain younger families and younger people so the church could have a future. I explained my vision and ideas for doing this over a 3 interview process. They asked me about my leadership style, and they asked me what I could see that needed change after visiting the church a couple of times.
