I had a very disappointing experience with War Child’s hiring process. The amount of time and energy I invested simply wasn’t respected. Communication was inconsistent, expectations kept shifting, and there was a surprising lack of clarity throughout. After putting a substantial amount of effort into interviews and preparation, I received no direct or constructive feedback — just vague messaging that left me feeling undervalued and confused. For an organisation that publicly emphasises care, transparency, and integrity, the internal recruitment process felt the complete opposite: disorganised, unclear, and surprisingly dismissive. Candidates deserve honesty and straightforward communication, especially when they’ve committed significant time. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend relying on this organisation for a professional, respectful, or well-managed recruitment process.
