I went through two interviews with this company—one virtual and one in-person. The process itself was straightforward, with questions about my background, experience, and work. However, during the in-person interview, a comment stood out to me—they mentioned that they typically hire younger candidates straight out of school, often those who "don’t have a strong work ethic." I found this statement unusual and somewhat concerning.
As part of the process, I was asked to complete a design assignment to showcase my skills. I submitted the work but never received any follow-up or formal rejection, which reflects poorly on their candidate experience. Given the number of red flags throughout the process, I’m not disappointed that it didn’t work out. However, I would caution future applicants about completing unpaid assessments, as there seems to be a pattern of no follow-up after submission.
